How to Join Palworld Community Servers

Community servers offer custom rules, larger populations, and persistent worlds. Joining them works a little differently depending on whether you play on Steam, Xbox, or PlayStation. This guide covers each platform and what to check before connecting.

Steam direct join

Steam players can join a server by its IP address and port. Open the join dialog and enter the address like this:

127.0.0.1:8211

Replace 127.0.0.1 with the server's public IP. The default Palworld port is 8211, but some hosts use a custom port. If you see a connection error, double-check the IP and port with the server owner.

Community server browser

All platforms can use the Community Servers list. Servers appear here when the host starts them with the -publiclobby argument. Console players on Xbox and PlayStation 5 must use this list; they cannot type a raw IP address.

Browse by region, player count, or server name. Read the description carefully for rates, rules, and any required passwords.

Before you connect

Dedicated servers take a few minutes to fully boot. Wait until the console or host confirms the server is ready. Your game client version must match the server version exactly. If either side was patched, update before joining.

If the server uses a password, you will be prompted after selecting it. Some servers require joining a Discord or website to receive the password or rules.

Passwords, rules, and region

Some community servers are password-protected. You can find the password on the server's Discord, website, or server listing page. Always read the rules before joining; breaking them can lead to a ban that may be enforced by GUID.

Choose a server in a region close to you. High ping makes combat, catching pals, and building frustrating. The server description often lists rates and any mod requirements. If a server uses mods, you must install matching client mods before you can play. Some servers have scheduled restarts, so note the restart time to avoid losing progress. If you enjoy a server, add it to your favorites or join the server's Discord to stay informed about events and rule changes.

Crossplay

Palworld supports crossplay between Steam, Xbox/Game Pass PC, and PlayStation 5 according to official documentation. However, Steam and Game Pass builds may receive updates at different times. When versions differ, crossplay may not work until both builds are on the same patch.

Finding a good server

Check the server name and description for rate settings, region, and PvP rules. Look for ExpRate, PalCaptureRate, and bIsPvP in the description or ask the host. A server close to your region usually provides lower latency and a smoother experience. Take your time choosing the right community; the best servers are the ones whose rules and schedules match how you like to play.
